THE Youth Development Centre is holding a five-month ‘Scaffolding Level 1’ training course. The fourth edition of the course, which began on January 12, is participated by 52 youths.
The intensive training programme includes theory and practical activities for two months at the Youth Development Centre in Jalan Utama, Kg Tanah Jambu.
The two-month training is nearing its end and participants will soon sit for a written exam to be certified with the Construction Industry Development Board before entering the private job market attachment programme for three months.
A delegation of officers and staff of the Youth Development Centre led by Haswandi bin Haji Osman, the Acting Assistant Director of the centre, visited the training site to have a first-hand look in the improvements and the progress rate of the youth trainers.
The delegation was joined by General Manager of Blue Oceanic Management Services, Haji Rambli bin Haji Kikil, and Operations Manager, Mohammad Bakhtiar bin Haji Rambli.
Also included in the delegation was SHIKA Sdn Bhd, represented by its Director Sufina binti Haji Jumat.
Local company SHIKA Sdn Bhd, in support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports’ vision to produce skilful and quality youth, has promised to conduct the three-month attachment programme for the youth trainees which will give them practical and hands-on experience in safety aspects in real industries.
Haji Haswandi lauded the youths’ participation and expressed his gratitude to the staff of Blue Oceanic Management Services as well as the participants’ professional take on the training.
