In his speech, Syarikat Samima Sdn Bhd Chairman Dato Paduka Haji Murni bin Mohamed noted that since its establishment back in 1986, the store has grown significantly, while maintaining its core business of selling and supplying books, stationeries and school equipment to both private and government schools as well as offices.
The ceremony continued with a ribbon-cutting and the signing of a plaque by the acting minister.
The day also saw Samima Sdn Bhd Managing Director Haji Hidayatullah Tejuddin presenting donations to the Special Education Fund, Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA), Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, SMARTER Brunei and KACA Centre.

He also assured that parents need not worry about a shortage of school books as the store has sufficient stock to meet students’ needs. Meanwhile, a Curriculum Development Department representative told the Sunday Bulletin that on November 5, the department held a meeting with book suppliers and vendors, informing them of the books that will be used at all schools across the nation.
