A TOTAL of 50 people yesterday took part in the 3rd Suzuki Challenge Cup 2014 organised by Boustead Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Four Wheel Drive Association Brunei (PKTLB), which was held at Tanah Jambu 4WD track in Muara.
The two-day competition was officiated by Executive Manager of Boustead Sdn Bhd, Lim Jin Lee through a flag-off of the Suzuki Jimny.
In his welcome remark, co-chairman of the organising committee Haji Ahmad bin Haji Abd Razak highlighted that the objective of the competition was to strengthen the relationship between the staff members of Boustead Sdn Bhd and members of PKTLB.
In addition, it was also to promote Suzuki among the public and provide an opportunity for those who love four-wheel drives to participate in the competition.
According to Haji Ahmad, the competition was also an effort to raise awareness on the issue of safety such as wearing helmet, safety belt, safety bar for vehicles and others.
The competition was divided into two categories, ‘Open Relay Standard’ and ‘Open Relay Modified’.
In the ‘Open Relay Standard’ category, the first place winner will receive a cash prize of BND800, a trophy and one set of 33×12.5 R15 Yokohama G001C tyre, sponsored by YHI Corporation (B) Sdn Bhd. The runner-up will walk away with BND500 and a trophy while the third place will take home a cash prize of BND300 and a trophy.
In the ‘Open Relay Modified’ category, on the other hand, the first place will walk away a cash prize of BND1500, a trophy and one set of 305/70R16 Yokohama G001C tyre, sponsored by YHI Corporation (B) Sdn Bhd, while the runner up will receive BND$1000 and a trophy. The third place will walk away with a cash prize of BND700 and a trophy.
Also in attendance were the Assistant Manager Overseas Automobile Service Group from Suzuki Japan, Tomonari Akaza, as well as other officials and staff members of Boustead Sdn Bhd.
