DELEGATES of the 3rd Joint Judicial Conference between Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and Singapore had the opportunity to experience Kampong Ayer and the Brunei River yesterday.
The delegates departed from the Queen Elizabeth Jetty on a boat, from where they were able to view the Mangrove Paradise Resort, fish farms, the Brunei Technology Museum, Kampong Ayer, Sungai Kebun’s overhead bridge project, Kampong Bolkiah Housing, Brunei Arts and Handicrafts Centre, Istana Nurul Iman, Jong Batu and the SOAS Mosque.
Present at the boat cruise were Dato Seri Paduka Hj Kifrawi bin Dato Paduka Hj Kifli, Chief Justice of the Brunei Supreme Court; Sundaresh Menon, Chief Justice of Singapore; John Barry Mortimer, President of the Court of Appeal of Brunei Darussalam; Dato Paduka Steven Chong, High Court Judge of the Brunei Supreme Court; Pg Hjh Rostaina Pg Hj Duraman, Judicial Commissioner/Chief Registrar of Brunei Darussalam; Michael Peter Burrell, Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam, and over 30 delegates from the Judiciaries of Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia.
A Welcoming Reception was scheduled to be held later in the evening.
