THE 3rd Brunei Food Festival 2015, themed ‘Big Makan’ and organised by Star Bugs Event Management, will be held on March 30 at the Indoor Stadium in Berakas.
According to the organiser, this year’s food festival will be held for seven days and is bigger compared to the previous years. The event will see more than 50 participants in the food and beverages industry. More than 60 booths will occupy the Indoor Stadium – over 30 owned by Brunei entrepreneurs.
The festival is aimed at promoting local food while at the same time introducing business opportunities in the country.
“This year, we managed to bring in a lot of participants and the response is very encouraging. The festival also welcomes participation of individuals who wish to sell other products beside food and beverages,” said the organiser.
The highlight of the event will be the Food Eating Challenge. In addition, there will also be a Murtabak tossing to see who can reach the maximum height. Attractive prizes will be given out.
The organiser hopes that the event will attract not only locals but also foreign tourists.
The first Brunei Food Festival was held six years ago in 2009.
