Berlin (dpa) – Most cameras can’t record images the way you would see them with your own eyes.
But, you can get closer to a lifelike image thanks to the panorama function on some smartphones.
And then there’s Google’s Photo Sphere app, which goes a step further.
The little program, available for Apple’s iOS, creates 360-degree panorama shots in a combination resolution of up to 50 megapixels.
Users can manipulate the image on the screen to look up, down and to the sides and then upload them so they can be viewed on Google Maps.
An explore function lets users check out shots uploaded by other users from scenic sites.
Photo Sphere is free and works with iOS version 7.0 and up. However, the app can only be used in a limited fashion with the iPhone 4.
