THIRTY people have been detained in the last two weeks in an operation by the police against gambling.
The suspects face a charge under the Common Gambling House Act, Chapter 28 after they were held in police raids in several areas in Brunei-Muara District such as Gadong, Lambak, Wasan, Jangsak, Kiarong, Kg Ayer, Kg Sg Besar and also in Tutong District.
Computers used for illegal gambling were seized.
The suspects, among whom were workers manning the computer games and players, are still being investigated.
“There will never be a legal premises such as these places sanctioned by any government authority.
“The Royal Brunei Police Force emphasises that there will be zero tolerance involving these illegal activities.”
