A CONVOCATION ceremony for hundreds of students is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
With a minimum of at least one year under the guidance of the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), a total of 219 young men and women are set to receive their Diploma’s, Degree’s and Master’s certification during the fourth KUPU SB Convocation, which will be facilitated by its Chancellor, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
In a press conference yesterday that took place at the higher education institution’s building in the capital, the Deputy Ra’es and chairman of the convocation’s working committee, Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, said that an approximate 3,000 invited guests comprising representatives of the government, high commissions and embassies based in the Sultanate, as well as the families of graduates will be present.
In anticipation of road traffic, guests are urged to adhere to the morning’s programme and are requested to arrive at the venue by 8.30am. To better accommodate access to the location, shuttle busses will be provided to transport guests between the venue and allocated parking spaces at the Indoor Stadium starting from 8am. Those with assigned car passes will be given direct access to the venue’s grounds.
As part of the programme, this year’s convocation ceremony will also include the presentation of a titah from His Majesty, the recitation of verses from Al-Quran and a welcoming remark by the Ra’es of KUPU SB.
Invited guests are also advised to dress appropriately and to help ensure the event runs smoothly through the observance of procedures directed by members of the working committee.
To further enliven the ceremony, invited guests are also encouraged to join in the singing of the national anthem that will occur during His Majesty’s arrival and departure.
