THE Immigration Enforcement Section of the Immigration and National Registration Department detained two foreign workers for violating the country’s immigration rules.
They were both caught for failing to show valid documents, overstaying and abusing their work passes.
Both the foreign workers were apprehended in a raid conducted at a rubbish disposal site at a school in Mukim Seria. They were brought to the Immigration and National Registration Department for further investigation.
Three Immigration personnel were involved in the operation.
The Immigration and National Registration Department reminded employers and foreign workers to adhere to rules and regulations, warning that the department would continue to conduct random checks.
The department added that it welcomes public tip-offs on immigration violations and that such information would be kept confidential.
