FIFTEEN couples who have been married for more than three years recently took part in a three-day post-wedding course that was held at the multipurpose hall of the Government Rest House at Jalan Maulana, Kuala Belait.
The course was organised by the Family Counselling Service Division at the Syariah Affairs Department with the cooperation of the Religious Affairs Office, Ministry of Religious Affairs, of the Belait District.
The guest of honour during the launching of the course was YB Awang Haji Mohd Yusof bin Haji Dulamin, a member of the Legislative Council.
Various experienced local facilitators and lecturers from different organisations within the government such as the Royal Brunei Police Force, Royal Brunei Armed Forces Counselling Centre, Ministry of Education Counselling Centre, Employee’s Trust Fund (TAP) of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, Universiti Brunei Darussalam and the Family Counselling Service Division at the Syariah Affairs Department were involved in the course, giving counselling guidance and advice specifically related to kinship.
In an interview, Rohhaslinda binti Hj Yahya, Family Counselling Service Division of Belait District, said, “This course is organised in response to the registered complaints in relation to household issues that we have been receiving in Belait. Thankfully, we have been receiving positive feedback from the participants and they expressed that the course has been very informative and helpful.”
