FOURTEEN coaches received their certificate of attendance at the end of the fourth AFC ‘C’ Certificate Coaching Course organised by the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) yesterday.
Of the 14 coaches, 11 were from Brunei Muara District, Belait District and Tutong District had one representative each while one was from Spain.
The guest-of-honour, Pehin Inderasugara Brigadier General (R) Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof bin Abu Bakar, Deputy President of NFABD presented the certificates at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the NFABD House.
Once an individual is a certified AFC ‘C’ licensed coach, the progression would be the AFC ‘B’ Certificate Coaching Course.
Prior to being accepted into the course, the coach would have to meet certain criteria, which is proof of the AFC ‘C’ Certificate, minimum 2 years of coaching experience and a log book with a minimum of 60 coaching hours logged in.
Pehin Inderasugara Brigadier General (R) Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof congratulated all participants and hoped that they will work hard to achieve further qualification in order to upgrade their licence to eventually reach the ‘A’ licence.
“In 2014 NFABD’s Football Development Department was able to organise AFC courses and FIFA courses, and the department will continue to organise and provide more of AFC and FIFA courses in the coming months to produce qualified and recognised coaches, not only in Brunei but also by AFC,” the guest-of-honour added.
