A FOREIGN worker was detained for failing to provide valid identification and another 10 foreign workers were issued with special passes for the authentication of their original passports in the latest raid conducted by immigration enforcement officers at three rented rooms and houses in Belait District on Wednesday night.
A foreign worker tried to hide from the inspection but was caught and brought to the department’s office for further investigation.
The operation dubbed ‘Operasi Kikis JIPK 64/2014’ was led by Acting Head of the Immigration Office and involved 13 personnel who were investigating houses in Jalan Maulana, Kg Tunggulian Liang Lumut and Jalan Singa Menteri in Kg Mumong.
Enforcement officers have once again urged employers and foreign workers to abide by the rules and regulations set by the Immigration and National Registration Department, which will continue to monitor activities around the Sultanate.
